Here are some key steps to follow before starting the dua:

  1. Sincere Intention (Niyyah):

  3. Facing the Qibla:
    • Face the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca (Qibla) while making the dua, if possible.
  4. Start with praise and Salawat:
    • Begin your dua by praising Allah (e.g., “Alhamdulillah” or “SubhanAllah”) and sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (e.g., “Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad”).
  5. Be humble and sincere.
    • Approach Allah SWT with humility and a sincere heart, admit your mistakes, and genuinely seek His forgiveness.

    • You can use specific duas from the Quran and Hadith for seeking forgiveness, such as:

      • “Rabbighfirli warhamni wa tub ‘alayya innaka anta at-tawwabur-rahim” (My Lord, forgive me, have mercy upon me, and accept my repentance.). Indeed, you are the accepting of repentance, the merciful.
  8. Be Consistent:
    • Make the dua regularly, particularly when duas are more likely to be accepted during the last third of the night, after obligatory prayers, and on Fridays.
  9. Trust and Patience:
